Kate rediscovered art in her middle years, spending five years exploring fine art, printing and textile design at Kingston university and University of West London.

Her work draws upon her collections of photography, drawings and ephemera collated over years of travel and observation. Her paintings feature vibrant colour and rapid execution with a sense of energy flowing throughout the work. Figure and portraits are her chosen subjects in paint , whilst her contemporary limited edition prints feature photography and digital imagery. These focus on urban architecture and the material fabric of the modern city.

London born and bred, the city and the River Thames features heavily in her work and in particular her 1978 series Featuring the iconic Battersea Power Station.
